Placing pins on Pinterest, with a link to your website is free. All you need is a pin that stands out. Promoting that pin for $1 a day over a week can potentially gain over 2k views and 10 to 20 clicks. Creating an eye-catching pin will attract 100s of views/impressions and with a little money spent on a promotion, you can increase your exposure ten fold.

As with most things, it comes down to trial and error.

Using Pinterest to promote your online business, is time-effective, and cost-effective. You’ll gain brand recognition and traffic to your website with relatively little effort.

Toward the end of this article there is a video demonstration of how to create a nifty looking Pinterest pin.

My Pinterest

I got started with Pinterest back in March, after the training I received as a member of Wealthy Affiliate.

Wealthy Affiliate has taken me from zero to the beginnings of a passive income in a relatively short space of time. Mostly I use the knowledge I’ve gained to promote Youngevity and earning commission from them.

Below are screenshots of some of the pins I have created recently.

The more I make the better I get. Practice makes perfect, as they say.

There is no limit to the number of pins you create.

By creating two or three pins to promote the same article or whatever, you can place them either in the same niche or in different niches if they are in any way related.

Pinterest training

With regard to Pinterest training observe;

Last February there were 3 live webinars on Pinterest for beginners, and recordings of those webinars can still be seen. They were hosted by Jay from Magistudios. He’s an awfully nice chap, and very helpful.

Jay’s webinars run for about an hour and then, there is a Q and A session at the end, “World Famous”, he says.

He presents a webinar at the end of every week and attendance is usually over 200.

Notice the lesson on power posting. That one was particularly useful.

There is always some good banta, and usually a few laughs, here and there.

They are a valuable training resource for me, as I often go back to review things to get a more complete understanding of certain things.

Tutorials, video training, and homework tasks.

Part of Wealthy Affiliate’s function is to operate as a tertiary training organization. There are several courses you can take concerning online business activity. They involve written text, video training, homework tasks, and the opportunity to ask questions, after each lesson.

You could almost say that the three main functions of Wealthy Affiliate are support, support, support.

In your first stages of training, you will come to lessons on how to use social media, tricks, and techniques, and part of that is a module covering Pinterest.

It is lesson 44 within the first 50. Also extremely helpful.

The Pinterest phenomenon

Pinterest at present is the fastest growing social media platform.

According to Wikipedia;

Pinterest is an American image sharing and social media service designed to enable saving and discovery of information (specifically “ideas”]) on the World Wide Web using images and, on a smaller scale, GIFs and videos, in the form of pinboards. The site was created by Ben Silbermann, Paul Sciarra, and Evan Sharp and had 300 million monthly active users as of August 2019. It is operated by Pinterest, Inc., based in San Francisco.

Promoting your website

If you’re a blogger

Once you have published your latest blog, there is no need to wait for your page to get high rankings on Google, because you can gain instant exposure to an enthusiastic niche audience on Pinterest. Its only a matter of creating 2 or three pins.

If you selling something

The same applies to the above. You give potential customers an interesting look at your product or service and clicking on the pin will take the viewers to your website. The same applies to anything you may be using the internet for.
